Service boundaries

Well-Pleaded facilitates individual immigration-related document tasks. It is operated by a technology company, not a law firm. When legal advice is provided, it is given by a separately engaged, authorized independent attorney under a written scope. The lawyer—not the platform—decides whether an engagement can responsibly be limited. Attorney-assisted services: An attorney may offer advice about a defined question, select or review forms and supervise preparation of agreed documents. The written attorney-client agreement identifies the work, exclusions, any revisions, fee and end point. Unless explicitly included in that separate agreement and allowed within this product, the work does not include representing you at a hearing, responding to future agency notices, monitoring all deadlines, filing documents, appealing a decision or handling an entire proceeding. There is no full retainer sold or managed by Well-Pleaded.

Attorney outsourcing: A lawyer may instruct and supervise an external preparer to work on a discrete document task. The lawyer keeps the underlying client relationship and responsibility. An external preparer does not independently decide legal questions or sign as the lawyer. Client access to a lawyer's task room is optional and must be intentionally granted.

Self-directed services: An individual who has independently selected a form may view official form information and, only if legally permitted for that exact service, purchase narrowly limited technical help. A nonlawyer preparer cannot select forms, assess eligibility, recommend a strategy or provide legal advice. Rules may restrict both permitted activities and compensation. If a task is not approved, the site must not accept an order for it.

Court and visa documents: Hearing-document assistance is limited to lawyer-approved work where the court's specific rules permit the service. Neither a checklist nor a document package is a court appearance. Visa category or eligibility decisions require an authorized legal professional. Official filing portals, government charges, processing times and outcomes remain controlled by the relevant agency or tribunal.

Documents, signatures and filing: Uploading is not reviewing; reviewing is not signing; exporting is not filing; submitting is not government acceptance. Each is a separate status. You are responsible for verifying facts and supplying your own valid signature where required. We show confirmations only when supported by an actual action and evidence.

No emergency service: Submitting an inquiry does not create attorney-client representation, stop a deadline, guarantee acceptance by a provider or impose case monitoring. If you face imminent detention, a hearing, appeal deadline or other urgent matter, do not rely on a pending online request as legal protection; seek appropriate authorized counsel promptly.

Privacy and initial contact: Do not include passport scans, A-numbers, detailed medical history, complete case files or privileged materials in initial public messages. Confidential materials are requested only after the proper account, permissions and legal relationship are established. Separate privacy and retention terms govern the platform; an attorney's professional duties also apply to the attorney's work.

Full representation elsewhere: If you and a participating attorney wish to enter a broader or continuing engagement, you may do so directly outside the marketplace. This does not automatically expand a Well-Pleaded task or give the operator any interest in later legal fees.
